Introduction

We offer the Pre-purchased English Language Tuition (PELT) programme to meet learners’ needs through a comprehensive approach that focuses on developing practical language skills, supporting academic progression, and fostering community integration. We recognise that migrants have diverse goals, ranging from improving communication with family members to pursuing higher education and career development in New Zealand.

Eligibility
To be eligible to enrol in the PELT programme, applicants must be migrants who have paid for English language
tuition to Immigration New Zealand (INZ). This may include parents, partners, or dependent children aged 16
and over who do not meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements and who paid INZ for ESOL
tuition prior to being granted residence.
